Taylor Swift Breaks Elvis’ Record For Most Weeks Atop Billboard 200

Taylor Swift has broken Elvis Presley‘s record for spending the second most weeks atop the Billboard 200.

Swift broke the tie with the late rock icon when her 1989 (Taylor’s Version) retained its No. 1 rank on the chart for the second week in a row.

That marked Swift’s albums claiming the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the 68th week.

Swift’s fourth re-recorded album, released in October, sold 98,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the December 22-28 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Swift’s achievement pushes Presley to third place with 67 weeks of Billboard 200 toppers.

The overall record for most weeks at No. 1 is held by The Beatles, with 132 weeks on top, spanning five decades.

Half of the albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart dated January 6, 2024, are holiday albums.

Michael Buble‘s Christmas at No. 2, and Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday 2 at No. 3, rounds out the top three.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate.
