Rolling Stones’ ‘Hackney Diamonds’ Returns To No. 1 On U.K. Albums Chart

The Rolling Stones‘ latest album, Hackney Diamonds, has returned to No. 1 on the U.K. Albums chart.

Hackney Diamonds jumped from the 6th spot to No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, published Friday, December 22, for its second non-consecutive week at the top.

“It’s a wonderful way to round off 2023,” the Stones said in a statement published by the Official Charts Company. “Thank you to everyone for listening to Hackney Diamonds. Have a very happy Christmas and New Year.”

Hackney Diamonds, which dropped on October 20th, is the band’s first album since 2005’s A Bigger Bang and their first since the 2021 death of drummer Charlie Watts, who contributed to some tracks in 2019.

The 12-track album was recorded in various locations around the world, including Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Metropolis Studios in London, Sanctuary Studios in the Bahamas, Electric Lady Studios in New York City, and The Hit Factory/Germano Studios, also in New York.

Hackney Diamonds marks the Stones’ first collaboration with New York-born producer and musician Andrew Watt.

The rock legends are also set to embark on “The Stones Tour 2024 Hackney Diamonds!” which will will kick off in Houston, Texas, on April 28, and wrap up in Santa Clara, California, on July 17.
