Lionsgate has announced that the Michael Jackson biopic ‘Michael’ will be released globally on April 18, 2025.
Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson will play the lead role.
Antoine Fuqua directs the film that chronicles the life and music of MJ.
Its screenplay was written by John Logan.
Michael is co-produced by Graham King, John Branca and John McClain.
The film will reportedly begin production on January 22.
Lionsgate is releasing the movie in the U.S., while Universal Pictures has the global rights, except in Japan.
According to the film’s official synopsis, “Michael will bring audiences a riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man who became the King of Pop.” “The film presents his triumphs and tragedies on an epic, cinematic scale – from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable creative genius, exemplified by his most iconic performances.
