Madonna Confirms Postponement Of Celebration Tour After Hospitalization

Madonna has postponed the first leg of her Celebration Tour in North America following hospitalization.

The pop superstar was admitted in the ICU last month after developing a serious bacterial infection.

Madonna announced on Instagram that she is rescheduling the North American leg and that her world tour will kick off in Europe in October.

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour,” Madonna said. “I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”

“My focus now is my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can,” she added.

Live Nation has confirmed the news. Rescheduled dates will be announced as soon as possible. It urged fans to hold onto their tickets as they will be valid for the new dates once announced.

Madonna was set to begin the North American leg of her world tour at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on July 15.
