Kanye West Removes Black Sabbath Sample Following Ozzy Osbourne Criticism

Kanye West removed a sample of Black Sabbath‘s “Iron Man” on his new album after receiving backlash from Ozzy Osbourne and his wife and manager Sharon.

Ozzy lashed out at Ye on social media, claiming the rapper used a recording of the song without his permission and against his wishes. The rapper finally released the song “Carnival” from Vultures 1 without the sample.

Last Friday, Osbourne posted the following message on social media: “Kanye West asked permission to sample a section of a 1983 live performance of ‘Iron Man’ from the Us festival without vocals & was refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many. He went ahead and used the sample anyway at his album listening party last night. I want no association with this man!”

Later on Friday, Sharon said she was exploring options to resolve the matter. “We are considering legal action,” she said in a statement. “Ozzy has not spoken to Kanye but our team have spoken with theirs.”
