Elton John has announced plans to release a book chronicling his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
“Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Memories of My Life On Tour” is a full-color celebration of his record-breaking, five-year, globe-spanning tour of 330 shows.
Hyperion Avenue, an imprint of Disney Publishing Worldwide, will publish the book on September 24.
From the very first show in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in 2018, to the final show in Stockholm in July 2023, readers will get a behind-the-scenes look into every aspect of the incredible tour, including Elton’s dazzling, final performances at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium, his record-breaking performance at Glastonbury, his legendary touring wardrobe by Gucci, the beautifully detailed stage design, celebrity guest attendees and official tour photography.
In the book, Elton reflects on key moments in his astounding touring history and reminisces about the beginning of his career. Fans also get a rare glimpse at Elton’s personal archive of posters, sketches, and never-before-seen photographs and postcards.
David Furnish, CEO of Rocket Entertainment, manager and creative director of the record-breaking tour, has written a poignant foreword to the book.
