  • The Knights of Columbus Annual Fish Fry Dinner will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Cost is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.
     
  • The Marcus Fair Board will host a fish fry from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Marcus Community Center. The menu includes, fish, cheesy potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dinner rolls. Assorted bars and milk. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

  • The Cherokee County Annual Area Recognition Banquet will be held at the WITCC Convention Center in Cherokee. There will be a Social Hour at 5:30 p.m. and a Buffet Dinner at 6:30 p.m. The Award Ceremony will follow the dinner. Featured speaker is Pat McGill from Spirit Lake who is a popular motivational speaker with a positive message and light-hearted humor.   • The Cherokee Regional Medical Center Public Health will be offering an H1N1 Immunization Clinic targeting children under 10 years of age who need their second dose of the vaccination. The clinic will be held at the Cherokee Regional medical Center Conference Room from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and is also open to the public for anyone 6 months and over that has not previously been vaccinated for the 2009 H1N1 virus. The H1N1 vaccine is also available at the regularly scheduled immunization clinics held at the Public Health office on March 17, 24 and 31 or through your physician’s office. Call 225-6459 to schedule an appointment for any of the upcoming public Health clinics.
     
  • The Cherokee Youth Summer Ball Association will have Youth Softball and Baseball Sign Up for current Kindergarten through 7th grade girls or 8th grade boys at the Roosevelt Elementary School today from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 19 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Cost is $30 per player or $80 max per family if sign up before march 30.   • The 25th Annual Sermons Ala Carte is at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 127 E. Willow St. in Cherokee. The 2010 Theme is "On The Road to the Cross" and service is from 12:05 to 12:30 p.m. and lunch is at 12:30 (Cost is $3.00 for lunch). The sermon title for today is "Speed Trap: Slow Down!" with Tom Lewis of the First Church of Christ.

  • There will be a Soup Supper beginning at        5:15 p.m. today and each Wednesday through March at Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall (basement). There will be a Worship Service following the meal.

  • There will be a Child/Dependent Adult Abuse Class at 6 p.m. in the CRMC Education Room    (2 hours child, 2 hours dependent adult). Mandatory reporters are required to attend this class once every five years. Call 225-3368, ext. 206 or 255 to register for this class. CEU and CEH available. Cost is $10. Certificates available at the end of class.

Chapter FM Fundraiser Brunch/Purse Raffle at the Faith Lutheran Church in March with serving from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The menu includes egg bakes, fruit cups, breads, coffee and purses raffled by Chinese auction. Brunch tickets are $6.00 and sold by P.E.O. members and at Farmers State Bank. Purse raffle tickets are $3 each or 2 for $5 and will be sold at the door. Proceeds will go the MMC Scholarship Fund.

Home Schoolers at the Library will be on Wednesdays from 2-3:00 p.m.

After School Bunch will have their meetings at the Library on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.

Youth in Action/4H will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday at the Library at 3:45.

NA Meeting will be every Thursday night from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the
St. Paul Methodist Church in Cherokee.

Senior Coffee at 9:30 a.m. at The Gardens every Thursday.

Read-It Book Discussion Group at the Library will be on Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m.

"The Good Times Place" located at the Cherokee Community Center will have dessert and coffee at 9:30 a.m.; Shuffleboard at 10 a.m; and Wood Carving every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and a Potluck the second Thursday of every month.

After School "Good News Club" for all elementary kids will meet on Fridays at the Roosevelt Elementary School from 3:15-4:30 p.m. This will be a fun time of Bible stories, games, songs, snacks and more. If interested have your child pick up a permission slip in the office at Roosevelt. A permission slip is required to attend.

"The Good Times Place" located at the Cherokee Community Center will have Rock Painting every Friday at 1 p.m.

The Cherokee Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will meet the 2nd Friday of each month. The meetings will be held at noon in the Education Room next to the cafeteria. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Terrific Toddlers will meet one Saturday a month at the Library at          10:30 a.m. 1-2-3-4 year olds, accompanied by a responsible person will meet for stories, puppetry, finger plays, flannel board stories, a simple craft, a snack and lots of fun!
